For specialized care after a hospitalization, Masonic Village’s professional staff, state-of-the-art therapy equipment and newly renovated accommodations will help you on your road to recovery. Our goal is to return you to your home on or off campus as soon as possible. Short-term rehabilitation can help you recover from:

From the day you arrive, treatment is intensive. Under a physician’s direction, a team of physical, occupational and speech therapists; nurses; and social workers devise a personalized program based on your needs and goals.

Masonic Village’s Transitional Care Unit is open for residents and community members.

Receive personal services and care in the comfort of your home, whether you need 24-hour care after returning home from the hospital or Sturgeon Health Care Center, or need a companion while your spouse is running errands.
Request services daily or hourly, on a regular or temporary basis. Services include:

The new Sturgeon Health Care Center includes private living spaces within eight homelike neighborhoods. Enjoy our spa featuring a bath with jets and a European-style shower.

Each neighborhood has a large dining area, parlor and family room, where you can relax with friends and family. Additional indoor and outdoor areas enhance well-being.

An interdisciplinary team, with attending physician oversight, develops individualized care plans. Social workers, pastors and therapeutic recreation specialists, as well as housekeeping, laundry and maintenance personnel, all contribute to daily support services.

Generous donations enable Masonic Village to provide services to most eligible individuals regardless of your financial means. You’ll need to maintain your eligibility for Medicaid and other third-party reimbursement to cover the costs for your services. Our staff will help you apply for all available financial assistance. You’ll receive funds monthly which can be deposited into a personal care account for safekeeping.

Seven Things You Need to Know

  1. Anyone age 60 and older may apply. For couples, one person needs to be age 60 and the other at least age 55. Anyone age 55 and older may sign up for the priority waiting list. For additional requirements, please contact the Sales & Marketing Office.
  2. Moves average approximately three months, and Masonic Village has various resources to assist you.
  3. With our convenient location and easy accessibility to downtown Pittsburgh and Interstate 79, we consider scheduled trips part of local transportation. We also provide transportation services to medical appointments on a scheduled basis.
  4. We know Fido and Kitty are part of your family, so bring up to two pets into your new home. We’ll provide specific guidelines based on your preferred living option.
  5. Masonic Village is a type “A” Lifecare community, which means your monthly service fee does not increase should you need a higher level of care – personal care or traditional nursing services. This provides the ultimate protection of your assets in a long-term care situation.
  6. Masonic Village provides support to most eligible individuals who may no longer be able to afford their services at some point in the future for reasons beyond their control. Our staff can provide specific guidelines.
  7. Garages, approximately 11 feet by 20 feet, are available for apartment residents for an additional fee and come equipped with electronic door openers.
